Be Right Back
In the summer of 2024, I began filming an untitled summer movie. What emerged was a chaotic blend of absurd, sun-soaked moments. The film follows my friends through nonsensical skits and wild antics as we traverse from the Yeti Café patio in downtown Kitchener to my home on Fogo Island. Our journey was fuelled primarily by espresso tonics and Kronenbourg Blanc 0.0s.
One moment, we’re striking bodybuilding poses at Studio Fuzion; the next, clinging to escarpments at the fourth corner of the flat Earth. Characters pop in and out of scenes with no explanation, and random montages of the group playing road trip guessing games somehow become pivotal moments of emotional depth.
It’s a film that captures the essence of friendship, spontaneity, and the kind of freedom you only get when you stop caring whether anything makes sense.
